When looking for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/qfort.com\/windows\/pvc\/\" rel=\"noopener\">ideal windows<\/a>\u00a0for our home, we should primarily pay attention to their quality, to the components and materials they are made of, to the reputation of the manufacturer and, last but not least, to the price.<\/p>\n<p>Another element to be taken into account when making a decision to purchase a window is the\u00a0insulating glass\u00a0used for its production. Why? Because the\u00a0<strong>glass<\/strong>\u00a0is the main element that offers\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/qfort.com\/windows\/pvc\/heat-insulation\/\" rel=\"noopener\">heat<\/a>&#8211; and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/qfort.com\/windows\/pvc\/noise-insulation\/\" rel=\"noopener\">noise-insulation<\/a>\u00a0properties, but also increased\u00a0<strong>comfort<\/strong>. It accounts for up to 70% of a window\u2019s area; therefore, it is worth focusing on the same when looking for the perfect windows for our home.<\/p>\n<div class=\"grey-bg-block\">\n<h2><strong>Glass used for the production of PVC windows<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/qfort.com\/windows\/insulated-glazing\/\" rel=\"noopener\">insulating glass<\/a>\u00a0used in the manufacture of PVC joinery consists of two or three glass pane packages. The space between the glass panes is filled with the\u00a0<strong>inert gas<\/strong>\u00a0argon to prevent the formation of\u00a0<strong>condensation<\/strong>\u00a0in the lower area of\u00a0the window, and a continuous\u00a0<strong>silica gel-filled spacer bar<\/strong> is used between the glass panes to absorb moisture.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2><b>What type of glass should you choose for your needs?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>The insulating glass used in the manufacture of PVC windows can be of several types, each having specific properties and generating various benefits.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<h3><strong><em>Low-E glass \u2013 High UV protection<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Low-E glass<\/strong>, as opposed to other glass types, is provided with a layer of metallic oxides that helps reflect the heat. Because the metallic layer can be scratched, it will always be applied on the inside, in a sealed environment, in a glass package made of at least two glass panes.<\/p>\n<p>This type of glass is characterised by\u00a0<strong>super-low emissivity<\/strong>\u00a0and is recommended in cases where the temperature variations between the outdoor and indoor environment are high, helping to\u00a0<strong>reduce heat loss<\/strong>\u00a0through the windows during the cold season and\u00a0<strong>reduce<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>overheating<\/strong>\u00a0in summer.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, as it reduces the penetration of\u00a0<strong>UV rays to the<\/strong>\u00a0inside, this type of glass is also recommended for residences with items of furniture that can become discoloured\/stained due to UV rays.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>\n<h3><strong><em>Solar Control Glass \u2013 Optimal energy efficiency, no matter the season<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>The Solar Control Glass<\/strong>\u00a0combines the advantages of\u00a0<strong>SuperLowE<\/strong>\u00a0glass with those of reflective glass. During summer it provides strong solar protection by reducing the greenhouse effect inside the residence, while during the cold season it retains its\u00a0heat-insulation properties.<\/p>\n<p>This type of glass is ideal for areas with\u00a0<strong>very hot summers<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>cool winters<\/strong>. Solar Control glass is not recommended for buildings with north-facing windows, as it has stronger solar reflection properties and reduces the<strong>\u00a0temperature<\/strong>\u00a0inside the residence, and allows less natural light in the room, hence creating a risk of\u00a0<strong>condensation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>You can safely choose solar control glass if your windows are east or west-oriented, as heat and light will get into your residence much more easily, and it is recommended to use a glass package offering good\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/qfort.com\/windows\/pvc\/heat-insulation\/\" rel=\"noopener\">heat insulation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>\n<h3><strong><em>Planistar Sun Glass \u2013 More natural light in the room for longer<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Planistar Sun glass<\/strong>\u00a0combines the two properties that a glazed window exposed to solar radiation and heat, especially during the summer, should fulfil. This glass has excellent ability to\u00a0<strong>reflect infrared radiation<\/strong>\u00a0and, through solar control, reflects much of the solar energy.<\/p>\n<p>This type of glass is suitable for east- and west-facing windows, offering good\u00a0<strong>light transmission<\/strong>\u00a0properties and allowing you to enjoy daylight for a longer.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>\n<h3><strong><em>Rolled Glass \u2013 The best noise insulation<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>rolled (duplex)<\/strong>\u00a0safety or anti-burglary\u00a0<strong>glass<\/strong>\u00a0is commonly used in\u00a0<strong>residential developments<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>commercial systems<\/strong>. It consists of two or more panes of glass glued to each other with a transparent resin layer between.<\/p>\n<p>This type of glass is recommended if your residence is located in a\u00a0<strong>very noisy area<\/strong>, as it provides the best\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/qfort.com\/windows\/pvc\/noise-insulation\/\" rel=\"noopener\">noise insulation<\/a>\u00a0compared to other types of glass.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the resin used to bond the panes of glass together prevents broken glass in cullets in the case of an accident, providing a high degree of safety. We recommend using this type of glass for glazed windows or doors that can be subject to impacts, because the resin layer and the manufacturing system for this glass provide greater\u00a0<strong>durability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>\n<h3><strong><em>Ornamental Glass \u2013 Increasing privacy<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Ornamental Glass<\/strong>\u00a0is mainly used to\u00a0<strong>reduce visibility<\/strong>\u00a0and provide\u00a0<strong>privacy<\/strong>\u00a0without reducing the\u00a0<strong>brightness<\/strong>\u00a0of the room.<\/p>\n<p>This is ideal for\u00a0<strong>offices<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>medical practices<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>law firms<\/strong>, increasing the\u00a0<strong>security<\/strong>\u00a0of a high degree of\u00a0<strong>confidentiality<\/strong>\u00a0and privacy<\/p>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li>\n<h3><strong><em>Float Glass \u2013 100% brightness and clarity<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you are looking for windows that allow up to 100% of the\u00a0<strong>natural light<\/strong>\u00a0to enter the room and provide a\u00a0<strong>high degree of clarity<\/strong>\u00a0to the outside environment, the\u00a0<strong>Float glass<\/strong>\u00a0might be the most suitable for you.
